The number of diagnostics available to inform real-time control using actuators such as hydrogen or impurity (Ne, Ar) injection is limited. Visible light spectrometers will play an important role, capturing emission signatures from the hydrogen fuel and impurities which can be used to probe heat and particle loss processes. However, from present day experiments it is clear that our understanding of the underlying collisional-radiative processes is incomplete, which inhibits our capability to accurately sense the plasma state.<\/p>\n<p>At DIFFER, we find ourselves in a unique position to address some of the outstanding questions. Our linear machine Magnum-PSI can create present-day tokamak and reactor relevant exhaust plasmas. New active spectroscopy diagnostics (TALIF, CARS) provide previously unavailable measurements of H and vibrationally resolved H2 densities and are complemented with a new multispectral imaging system MANTIS, which provides spatially resolved emission recordings. The IBF usage is rapidly growing, with operational hours increasing from 500 in 2019 to 3000 in 2025. Our diverse user base spans users from the domain of fusion, electrochemistry, aerospace, optics, fission, and more.<\/p>\n<p>In this frame, we are looking for a Scientific Facility Owner who wants to work at the heart of large-scale experimental science, offering user support and assisting academic and industrial partners with cutting edge scientific projects. This role is ideally suited for a PhD graduate who enjoys hands-on experimentation, working with a diverse user base, and enabling high-impact science, rather than pursuing an independent academic research career. After internal training, you will become a key expert in operating and developing our Ion Beam Facility, gaining broad exposure to advanced materials research and infrastructure operations. Around the PLD chambers, we are currently setting up different in-situ diagnostics to characterize the thin films during film growth or shortly after deposition of the thin films. Thin film properties that will be investigated in-situ are the evolution of structure, composition, optical properties, and stress \/ strain, and ferroelectricity.<\/p>\n<p>The specific in-situ diagnostics to focus on in this Post Doc position are novel methods for a PLD cluster line; they are bought or developed together with companies and our partners at University Twente and Technical University Eindhoven. Het volledige team bestaat uit 3 vaste medewerkers. Je bent het eerste aanspreekpunt voor bezoekers en werknemers bij DIFFER. De receptiemedewerker is de eerste persoon die men ziet bij binnenkomst en de laatste als men het gebouw verlaten. Het maken van een goede indruk bij de receptie is voor DIFFER een belangrijk visitekaartje. Het is daarom belangrijk dat je representatief, vriendelijk en service gericht bent.<\/p>\n<p>Als receptioniste\/administratief medewerker ontvang je bezoekers gastvrij en zorg je voor een warm welkom met een kopje koffie of thee. Een dag is opgedeeld in 2 shifts waarbij je de receptiebalie opent (07:30) en\/of sluit (18:00), verder ben je verantwoordelijk voor de dagelijkse gang van zaken betreffende de frontdesk en de telefooncentrale van DIFFER. Je ziet dagelijks toe op een nauwkeurige administratie, zoals bijvoorbeeld bezoekersregistratie, sleutelregistratie en gerelateerde administratieve taken voor onze HR afdeling. De receptie is bij DIFFER een laagdrempelig aanspreekpunt voor de hele organisatie. In die rol sta je open voor het faciliteren en zoeken naar oplossingen. De functie kent een afwisselend werktempo met zowel rustige als hectische momenten. Een groot deel van de administratieve werkzaamheden is digitaal en DIFFER gebruikt Topdesk als Facility Management Information System (FMIS).<\/p>\n<p>Je bent zelf verantwoordelijk voor de indeling van de dagelijkse gang van zaken betreffende de receptietaken.
