At the office in Rotterdam, everything revolves around precision, speed, and international collaboration. For a major logistics project, we are looking for an ocean freight forwarder who knows how to manage global shipments from A to Z. You will handle all documentation, communicate with international stakeholders, and ensure each shipment is processed correctly and on time. You’ll be part of a diverse, international team and work directly for the hiring company.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and verify transport documents such as B/L, CMR, and customs forms.
- Manage import and export shipments via ocean freight.
- Coordinate shipments with shipping lines, carriers, and internal departments.
- Identify and resolve issues with shipments proactively.
- Maintain daily contact with international clients and suppliers.
- Process shipments in internal systems and track their status.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing of files.
- Monitor deadlines, ETA’s, and customer agreements.
- Identify opportunities to improve the logistics process.
We are looking for someone who
- Has at least 1 year of experience as an ocean freight forwarder or in a similar role.
- Is familiar with all related documentation and freight processes.
- Speaks English fluently; Dutch is a plus but not required.
- Has experience with systems like SAP, Cargowise, or similar (preferred).
- Communicates clearly and is service-oriented.
- Works in a structured and organized way, especially under pressure.
- Is a team player with a hands-on mentality.
- Is flexible and willing to occasionally work outside office hours for urgent shipments.

Expediteur Zeevracht – Rotterdam | Werving & Selectie
Op het kantoor in de regio Rotterdam draait alles om precisie, snelheid en internationaal samenwerken. Voor een groot logistiek project zijn we op zoek naar een expediteur zeevracht die weet hoe je import- en exportstromen soepel laat verlopen. Jij verzorgt de volledige documentatie, onderhoudt contact met internationale partijen en zorgt dat elke zending perfect wordt afgehandeld. In een internationale werkomgeving werk je samen met collega's uit verschillende landen en coördineer je wereldwijde goederenstromen. Je werkt direct in dienst bij de opdrachtgever.
Werkzaamheden
- Opstellen en controleren van transportdocumenten zoals B/L, CMR, en douaneformulieren.
- Beheren van import- en exportzendingen via zeevracht.
- Coördineren van transporten met rederijen, vervoerders en interne afdelingen.
- Signaleren en oplossen van afwijkingen in zendingen.
- Onderhouden van dagelijks contact met internationale klanten en leveranciers.
- Verwerken van zendingen in het systeem en bijhouden van statusupdates.
- Zorgen voor tijdige en correcte facturatie van dossiers.
- Monitoren van deadlines, ETA’s en klantafspraken.
- Signaleren van optimalisatiemogelijkheden in het logistieke proces.
Wij zoeken
- Minimaal 1 jaar ervaring als expediteur zeevracht of vergelijkbare rol.
- Bekend met alle bijbehorende documentatie en processen.
- Goede beheersing van de Engelse taal, Nederlands is een pré maar geen vereiste.
- Ervaring met systemen zoals SAP, Cargowise of vergelijkbaar is een pré.
- Communicatief sterk en klantgericht.
- Gestructureerd werken en goed overzicht houden bij drukte.
- Teamspeler met een hands-on mentaliteit.
- Bereidheid om af en toe buiten kantoortijden te schakelen bij spoedzendingen.
