Your work as a coach
As an Honours Coach, you will inspire and empower students to apply their talents, guiding them through meaningful projects that tackle real-world challenges. You’ll foster creativity, interdisciplinary teamwork, and innovative problem-solving during the honours projects. You will guide students during the process from ideation and team forming to making projects plans, executing them and creating tangible impact on society. The program operates year-round, launching with a two-day kickoff event on January 30th and 31st. From February to June, there will be a limited number of scheduled meetings. Throughout the program, students will take the lead in each phase, while your role will be crucial in guiding them to reflect, grow, and excel as changemakers. The majority of your time will be dedicated to coaching project groups. For 2025 and 2026, the allocated time will double to 0.1 FTE, giving you more capacity to develop and excel in this role. The expectation is that the allocated time in 2027 will be 0.05 FTE (2 hours a week).

You will collaborate as a coach with Kees Bal, Research Policy Advisor, and Joeri Versluis, Coordinator of the Honours Program, who will transition his coaching responsibilities to you. Junior Onderzoeker Biobased Bouwen

Heb jij passie voor het innoveren van de bouwsector door middel van de toepassing van duurzame, biobased materialen? Het lectoraat Biobased Bouwen is op zoek naar een toegewijde junior onderzoeker die graag wil leren en wil bijdragen aan de vooruitgang van biobased bouwmaterialen. Je zal het Biobased Wet Cell-project ondersteunen, met de nadruk op geopolymere materialen en biobased alternatieven.

Als je enthousiast bent om te leren, gedreven bent en geïnteresseerd bent in de interactie tussen mensen, technologie en duurzaamheid, dan is deze praktijkgerichte onderzoekspositie wellicht perfect voor jou. Solliciteer op de vacature van junior onderzoeker Biobased Bouwen bij HZ University of Applied Sciences in Middelburg, Nederland.

Jouw rol als junior onderzoeker
Je ondersteunt onze onderzoeksinspanningen door middel van het doen van hands-on onderzoek en data-analyse op het gebied van biobased constructies. Zo maak je b.v. een expertimenteel ontwerp of doe je proeven op biobased materialen. Daarom is interesse in het leren over biobased materialen is fundamenteel, en een basiskennis van cementachtige en/of geopolymere materialen noodzakelijk. Je zult ons innovatieve team assisteren bij het doen van onderzoeken, het innoveren en creëren van duurzame oplossingen voor bouwmaterialen. Je krijgt de kans om te werken in de state-of-the-art faciliteiten van het Joint Research Center Zeeland (JRCZ).

De onderzoeken die wij doen, dragen bij aan het onderwijs van HZ en daarom werken wij samen met een aantal studenten. Om dit goed te laten verlopen begeleidt je studenten tijdens het uitvoeren van projecten in minors en (afstudeer)stages.

Dit vind je leuk om te doen:

  • Assisteren bij onderzoeksinitiatieven om biobased materialen voor de bouw te ontwikkelen en te promoten, met de nadruk op cementachtige en geopolymere materialen.
  • Ondersteunen bij het ontwerpen, uitvoeren en analyseren van experimenten om de prestaties en haalbaarheid van biobased materialen te verkennen.
  • Organiseren en ondersteunen van het publiceren van onderzoeksresultaten in tijdschriften en het presenteren van inzichten op conferenties en seminars.
  • Organiseren, uitvoeren en deelnemen aan hands-on onderzoek met een team, in projecten met externe partners
  • Studenten begeleiden en instrueren bij laboratoriumactiviteiten en theoretische en praktische achtergrond bieden
  • De laboratoria en laboratoriumapparatuur beheren

Het zit in je
Je bent enthousiast om een betekenisvolle bijdrage te leveren aan onze onderzoeksprojecten. Met een nieuwsgierige en onderzoekgerichte houding ben je klaar om te leren en je bevindingen om te zetten in resultaten. Ervaring met projectmatig werken is nuttig, en je voldoet aan de volgende vereisten:

  • Een bachelor in Materiaalkunde, Civiele Techniek of een vergelijkbaar vakgebied.
  • Interesse in het onderzoeken en ontwikkelen van biobased alternatieven, vooral in cementachtige en geopolymere materialen.
  • Onafhankelijkheid en verantwoordelijkheid bij het werken aan onderzoek in toegepast omnderzoek projecten of praktische ervaring.
  • Ervaring met experimenteel ontwerp, data-analyse en relevante softwaretools.
  • Goede communicatieve en coachingsskills.

Jouw Team
Het lectoraat Biobased Bouwen is één van de 10 onderzoeksgroepen binnen het HZ domein Technology Water & Environment. Het team bestaat uit 4 enthousiaste onderzoekers en heeft een uitgebreid projectenportfolio. We streven naar een inclusief team waarin iedereen de mogelijkheid heeft om zich te ontwikkelen en verantwoordelijkheid te nemen voor zijn of haar werk. Samenwerking, zowel binnen met andere onderzoeksgroepen, zowel intern als extern aan de HZ University of Applied Sciences, staat centraal.
