Design Tutor Master Interior Architecture: Research + Design (MIARD) – Willem de Kooning Academie (0,15 fte)

The Master Interior Architecture: Research + Design (MIARD) at the Piet Zwart Institute invites qualified candidates to apply for a core tutor position to head a practice-led research studio examining ecology, post-natural conditions, and interspecies relations. The studio critically investigates spatial environments entwined in the complexities of human and non-human relations, ecosystems, material cultures, and technological infrastructures. The research produced operates as a relational framework for students to develop their self-directed practice, and explore spatial imaginaries, ecological futures, and artistic expression.

The position carries a high degree of responsibility and influence, with the opportunity to align your own practice and research with a broader community of professionals and students. You will guide students in their learning process and contribute to a coherent educational practice, ensuring that your teaching is embedded in the programme’s learning pathway and supports the development of their independent, research-driven practice.

Willem de Kooning Academie

The core design tutor works collaboratively with members of the MIARD teaching team.

Student Success & Support Coordinator Masters (0,8 – 1,0 fte)

As a Student Success & Support Coordinator, you play a central role in supporting students throughout their academic journey. You act as a primary point of contact for students facing complex academic, personal or practical challenges and provide professional, tailored guidance aimed at promoting study progress, student wellbeing and successful completion of their programme.

The role combines student counselling, case management, study progress monitoring, policy and process coordination, stakeholder management and administrative coordination. You work closely with students, teaching staff, the Examination Board and internal support services to identify issues at an early stage, coordinate appropriate interventions and ensure that students receive the right support at the right time.

In addition to individual student support, you contribute to the continuous improvement of student support processes and use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improving student success.

Rotterdam Business School (RBS)
The Rotterdam Business School (RBS) is a community of professionals who, together with our students, form a dynamic educational institution for the economic field. The Business School offers education that is accessible to everyone, in a learning environment that resembles professional practice and where the industry actively participates. The education focuses on the development of students and prepares them for a constantly changing world. RBS offers English taught programmes at Bachelors and Masters level. Our Master programmes are Master in Consultancy and Entrepreneurship and Master in International Supply Chain Management. We also offer a pre-master programme. Docent Finance Jaarteam 1 - Ondernemerschap & Retail Management (0,8 -1,0 fte)

Je verzorgt onderwijs aan eerstejaars studenten van de Community Entrepreneurship. Jaar 1 staat in het teken van zowel de intrapreneur als de entrepreneur: studenten maken in dit jaar voor het eerst echt kennis met ondernemerschap, in al zijn vormen.

In de eerste periode adviseren studenten een echt Rotterdams bedrijf over een actueel vraagstuk. Ze leren wat het is om als intrapreneur mee te denken over een bestaande organisatie en een concreet advies neer te leggen bij een ondernemer. Vervolgens gaan ze een half jaar lang aan de slag met het opzetten van hun eigen bedrijf: van idee tot een eerste werkend businessmodel. In de laatste periode van het jaar lopen studenten stage, waarbij ze een ondernemer gaan shadowen en van dichtbij meemaken wat het runnen van een bedrijf in de praktijk betekent.

Als docent begeleid je studenten door deze drie fasen heen: van kennis- en skillslessen tot coaching in het projectonderwijs. Je bereidt hen voor op het adviestraject, coacht ze bij de opbouw van hun eigen onderneming en ondersteunt ze tijdens het stage lopen bij een ondernemer die zij gaan shadowen. Daarnaast draag je bij aan het verder ontwikkelen van het lesmateriaal voor jaar 1 en geef je les in de financiële aspecten die bij ondernemen aan bod komen.

Het team
De opleiding Ondernemerschap en Retail Management bestaat uit ongeveer 40 docenten, onderverdeeld over vier jaarteams. Jij komt te werken in het hechte jaarteam 1, van ongeveer 8-12 docenten. Samen zijn jullie verantwoordelijk voor de eerstejaars studenten: van hun eerste adviesopdracht, via het opzetten van hun eigen bedrijf, tot hun stage. Het team is divers van opbouw, zowel in achtergrond als in ervaring en leeftijd. Alle teamleden hebben één ding gemeen … zij gaan tot het uiterste om studenten te ondersteunen bij hun allereerste stappen richting ondernemerschap.

Admissions Support Officer (1,0 fte)

You will be focusing on Admissions and in a smaller capacity on Housing. The Admissions team is responsible for screening and checking the eligibility of non-Dutch diplomas. This team works closely together with our university’s main administration, Nuffic and the IND. The Housing team is responsible for mediating between SSH (Stichting Studenten Huisvesting) and our students. They work closely together with our Real Estate department and our legal department. As Admissions Support officer, you will be the point of contact for Admissions and Housing questions. Your main responsibility will be answering questions from students, parents, colleagues and other stakeholders at the front desk, via email and via Teams. Since our front desk is open daily (except during national holidays/breaks), you will be in the office four days a week. On the fifth day you can work from home.

You will also be responsible for:

• Retrieving information in the system to be able to answer questions correctly, for example the application status of students or the application documents that they uploaded
• Screening and checking the eligibility of non-Dutch diplomas
• Attending the Open Days on Saturdays (only for Admissions, in a rotating schedule so everyone attends approx. one Saturday per year)
• Assigning rooms to students (twice a year), using our own systems/overviews and those of SSH
• Being the main contact person for SSH
• Conducting the Housing webinar (twice a year)
• Various supportive tasks like data entry, keeping FAQ's up to date, archiving etc.

The focus will be Admissions. Since we have very few rooms for our students, housing will be max. 2 hours per week except for the peak periods when Housing registration opens (November for the February intake and May for the September intake). During those weeks you will be solely working on Housing together with a colleague. Taking days off is not possible during those weeks.

The Centre of International Affairs (CoIA)
The Centre of International Affairs (CoIA) is looking for an Admissions Support officer. The position is available as of January 1st 2027. CoIA supports internationalization within Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. The department consists of six subteams: Admissions, Student Support, Exchange, Travel, Housing and Policy & Advice. We have two student intakes: February and September. Yearly we welcome over 1000 international students for an English taught study or exchange programme.

Information Security Officer (0,8 - 1,0 fte)

Je wordt het centrale aanspreekpunt voor decentrale securityvraagstukken en trekt intensief op met de CISO als sparringpartner in operationele en tactische securityzaken.

Waar houd je je mee bezig?

• Je zet de eerste stappen om decentrale IT-omgevingen compliant te maken met het nieuwe decentrale IT-beleid;
• Je coacht een team van drie ervaren Technische Information Security Officers via een agile werkwijze (Scrum/Kanban) en bewaakt voortgang en kwaliteit van geplande activiteiten. Je brengt focus aan op prioriteiten en stimuleert groei en nieuwsgierigheid binnen het team;
• Je bent eerste aanspreekpunt bij escalaties, bewaakt de voortgang van acties buiten je eigen team, en neemt deel aan communicatie-, PO- en domeinoverleggen;
• Je bent IT-vertegenwoordiger in het multidisciplinaire Response Team Datalekken, samen met Privacy en de Functionaris Gegevensbescherming, en signaleert, analyseert en volgt IT-gerelateerde beveiligingsincidenten op;
• Je organiseert en geeft trainingen om security awareness te vergroten bij IDT-medewerkers, en adviseert gevraagd en ongevraagd over informatiebeveiliging aan teams, Product Owners en management;
• Je vertaalt informatiebeveiligingsbeleid naar procedures en richtlijnen, stelt rapportages, risicoanalyses en audits op, en adviseert over verbetermaatregelen;
• Je toetst softwareaanvragen op securityrisico's, privacy en compliance en adviseert over veilige implementatie conform ISO 27001 en NIS2. Je neemt deel aan het Change Advisory Board en beoordeelt changes op security-impact;
• Je onderhoudt het contact met externe partners zoals SURF, SCIRT en SCIPR en volgt ontwikkelingen in het hoger onderwijs en de security-community.
