Construction Project Manager (0.8-1FTE)
About this job
As a Construction Project Manager (0.8-1 FTE), you will be our campus construction ‘encyclopaedia’: you will know every wall, button, installation, and building feature inside out. This will allow you to determine which (structural) changes are possible and which are not, and come up with alternative solutions for desired changes. With your knowledge of construction, installations, and electrical and technical engineering, you will manage all planned construction and renovation projects on the campus of Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas). You know the right parties to involve in the realisation of these projects and, as a project manager, you will ensure smooth cooperation and execution.
You will contribute to the management and monitoring of maintenance work under various contracts with external suppliers. You will contribute to the implementation of the long-term maintenance plan and the sustainability challenges on our campus. All this within the established real estate budgets. Where necessary, you will provide advice and conduct further research. As a participant or leader of the relevant project group, you will work proactively on the various plans.
Working in the Campus & Workplace Services (CW&S) department, you will be the essential link between the back office team, janitors, planning, business partners, contractors and architects, among others. You have a critical eye and are good at keeping track of things, meeting deadlines, and assigning tasks in a timely manner. You can read architectural drawings and are familiar with relevant legal requirements. You will troubleshoot technical and construction problems and request quotes for facility-related services when necessary. In doing so, you keep everything in check and become the key architectural linchpin in our organisation.
What do we offer?
- The salary for this position amounts to a monthly minimum of €3,609.94 and a monthly maximum of €5,377.13 (gross amounts based on full-time employment);
- This position is classified in scale 10 of the cao-hbo (collective labour agreement). Your official job title will be operations policy officer;
- This position involves a one-year employment contract with the possibility of conversion into an indefinite employment contract;
- Your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed when you travel by public transport;
- You will receive a contribution towards your health insurance costs;
- You will receive an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% in December and an annual holiday allowance of 8% in May;
- You will also be awarded professional development hours every year and almost 11 weeks of holiday entitlements in a full-time position;
- You will work in a close-knit and friendly team where everyone helps each other, thinks together and sees opportunities together. It's a supportive team in an informal working atmosphere where personal development is encouraged.
- You have the option to work partly from home, which can help improve your work-life balance;
- You will build an attractive pension through the ABP pension fund;
- Working at BUas means always striving for ‘the plus’. BUas aims to be more than just a university of applied sciences, continuously focusing on development and creating meaningful experiences;
- You will be working at a top-ranked university of applied sciences on a green, sustainable campus near the city centre of Breda.
What do we ask of you?
- You have at least an MBO+ / HBO level of professional and intellectual ability (an education in construction is preferred);
- You work in a structured and precise manner and have an eye for detail;
- You understand that education comes first and therefore do not mind taking leave outside of school holidays (your presence during the construction industry holiday is preferred);
- You enjoy being the important link between different parties, organising in a structured way and keeping an overview;
- You have knowledge of laws and regulations in the field of construction and building systems engineering;
- You are good at communicating with technical companies and (sub)contractors, reading AutoCAD drawings, and comparing technical quotations;
- You have demonstrable work experience with projects in the area of construction, renovation, and/or electrical and technical building services engineering;
- You have a good command of written and spoken Dutch. Due to the international character of our university of applied sciences, a good command of the English language is desirable.

Registration & Compliance Officer
- Het salaris bedraagt minimaal € 3.311,92 en maximaal € 4.376,46 bruto per maand bij een volledig dienstverband;
- De functie is gewaardeerd in schaal 8 van de cao-hbo. Je officiële functienaam is medewerker bedrijfsvoering;
- Het gaat om een dienstverband voor een jaar met mogelijkheid tot omzetting in een arbeidsovereenkomst voor onbepaalde tijd;
- Je krijgt een volledige reiskostenvergoeding wanneer je met het openbaar vervoer reist en een tegemoetkoming aan de ziektekostenverzekering;
- Je krijgt jaarlijks een eindejaarsuitkering van 8,3% in december en 8% vakantiegeld in mei;
- Je krijgt elk jaar professionaliseringsuren én bijna elf weken vakantie bij een fulltime baan;
- Je komt te werken in een dynamisch team waar collega’s nauw samen werken, elkaar graag helpen en ervaring en kennis delen;
- Je hebt de mogelijkheid om deels thuis te werken, wat kan zorgen voor een betere werk-privébalans;
- Je bouwt een aantrekkelijk pensioen op via het pensioenfonds van ABP;
- Werken bij BUas betekent altijd op zoek gaan naar ‘de plus’. BUas wil meer zijn dan een hogeschool en focust continu op het blijven ontwikkelen en het creëren van betekenisvolle ervaringen;
- Je komt te werken op een groene, duurzame campus vlakbij het centrum van Breda.
Wat vragen wij van jou?
- Je hebt affiniteit met, en bij voorkeur ervaring binnen, het onderwijs;
- Je hebt een hbo werk- en denkniveau;
- Je hebt een sterk analytisch denkvermogen en kunt processen van bovenaf bekijken;
- Nieuwe systemen en ICT-programma’s weet je je snel eigen te maken. Ervaring met Osiris heeft de voorkeur;
- Je bent proactief en hebt affiniteit met wet- en regelgeving;

We strive for continuous interaction with students and as often as possible, including with industry partners. - You will be working in a close-knit team of lecturers with knowledge and experience of hotel and facility management;
- Lines of communication within our academy are short and staff are easily contactable. At the Academy for Hotel & Facility Management (AHF), we work and learn in close cooperation, whether you are a student, lecturer, or manager;
- Working at AHF also offers crossovers to other interesting knowledge areas within Tourism and Leisure;
- You will be working at our modern, sustainable and high-tech campus within a vibrant, creative and dynamic environment near the city centre of Breda;
- Moving from abroad to Breda in the Netherlands? We provide support and financial reimbursement of relocation expenses and settling in in the Netherlands. Dutch tax authorities may offer tax reduction to applicants from abroad (making tax rates comparable to the UK and US).
What do we ask of you?
- You have a relevant business master’s degree;
- Apart from having a firm grasp of micro and macroeconomics, you are also able to segue from economics to managerial topics such as management accounting, marketing, ESG and strategy development;
- You are passionate about your work and would like to share this passion with our students and others. You have creative and fresh ideas on how to share this information and knowledge;
