External and Internal Communication Team Lead

About this job
As a team lead (0.6–0.8 FTE) at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas), you will work as a coach, director, developer and networker for the External and Internal Communication team within the Marketing, Communication & Student-community (MC&S) department. MC&S supports the wider BUas community – academies, R&D, and the Executive Board – across all areas of external and internal communication, and drives a range of initiatives in line with communication policy and strategy. You will work hands-on alongside the team while also providing strategic advice, developing communication policy, and contributing to operational delivery. Banqueting and Catering Supervisor

About this job
You will work as a Banqueting and Catering Supervisor (0.4–1 FTE) at the Academy for Hotel & Facility Management (AHF) of Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas), as part of our in-house training company Sibelicious.

Through our in-house training company Sibelicious, we provide real-world learning experiences to prepare the next generation of hospitality professionals. At Sibelicious, guests can enjoy quality food at reasonable prices while students put their hospitality skills into practice across a range of outlets, including the visitor centre, food courts, kitchen, and restaurant – the latter housed in a historic building on the BUas campus. You will oversee the preparation and execution of all banqueting, catering, and conferencing events, while collaborating with instructors and management on continuous improvement. You will also play a supporting role in the personal and professional development of your team.

You are the first point of contact and coach for our students and catering staff. You will guide them in their development, ensure a safe and professional learning environment, and take responsibility for the quality of our products and services. Working hands-on in daily operations, you combine practical expertise with knowledge transfer and guiding learning processes. This includes providing practical instructions and demonstrations during catering and banqueting events at our campus.

Every week you will work with a new group of students, instructing, coaching and monitoring them in service techniques, presentation standards, hospitable behaviour, and the use of equipment and cash registers – providing feedback throughout. As a supervisor you will be responsible for the daily operations across all outlets and for handling banqueting and catering requests. This involves assigning, initiating, and coordinating the duties and activities of students and student managers, and stepping in with corrections where needed. At the end of each shift, you will ensure a proper close-down, complete daily revenue reporting, oversee the stocking of supplies, beverages, and general products, as well as the availability of learning materials. You will monitor all functionalities, coordinate daily student instruction sessions, and maintain the overall cleanliness of the outlets. When no students are available, you will assist your colleagues and take over operational tasks as required. You will also be actively involved in student evaluations. You will be part of a team of nine instructors and attend regular department-related meetings. All daily communication at Sibelicious is in English.

As a Placement Support Officer (0.8-1.0 FTE) at the Academy for Hotel and Facility (AHF) at Breda University of applied science (BUas), you will be helping students build their future. You will achieve this by ensuring, together with your colleagues, unforgettable work placements for students. Work placements enable students to increase their knowledge and skills that they will later need as starting professionals. What will you be doing within the team? You will ensure that the preconditions are in order, and everything runs smoothly for students, work placement supervisors and work placement companies. For example, you will be taking care of work placement contracts, forms and answering e-mails. In our CRM-system you will process all administration meticulously.
